The Boondocks Announce "BoondocksBootleg" - Negrology: Negro Hair (PERMS) (DAPP News/Videos)

" Although fans eagerly await confirmation announcements of Season 3 of hit Cartoon Network series The Boondocks, creator Aaron McGruder announced that he would be offering fan content this week.
Titled "BoondocksBootleg," the comic strip-turned-TV hit is offering fan favorites in a new online medium. The sketches, starring Boondocks favorites like John "Granddad" Witherspoon, Gary Anthony "Uncle Ruckus" Williams and Carl "Thugnificent" Jones, features the same hilariously profane, yet insightful comedy that McGruder is infamous for.

"So much happens between seasons that we can't comment on because the production schedule of the show is so long," explains McGruder in a press release. "These online sketches are a lot like The Boondocks comic strip in that it allows me to be topical again, which is always a lot of fun." "

FADER 58: Kanye West Cover Story and Interview (DAPP News)

Kanye West cover story 1

"I used to feel this sense of entitlement that's completely immature. I needed to really get past that. It's been a great detriment to people liking me, me being a spoiled baby, and people still make jokes about it, but they don't realize I'm not that same person."

"There's gonna be people that, as big as a celebrity I am, really just discover me on this album. I want my music to be played the same place you could play a Feist song, but I want it to still work in a strip club, still work in a car....I go to Starbucks every day, listen, look at the CD rack, and I'm like, I'm not here. I could easily give up and be like, Well, I'm black and I'm a rapper, or I could be like Man, what could I do to get here? You only got one life and sh*t. Who's to say what you can and can't do?"

"What I want is for people to realize at this point is, I don't give a f*uck. That's why I made this album. I'm using auto-tune because I don't give a f*ck. I like the way it sounds."
-Kanye West

no "Blueprint 3" till 2009 (DAPP News)

boogieb: same goes for 50's album, not that i care about that as much. the end of the year is not the same without a jay-z album

Although speculation was widespread that Jay-Z would be releasing The Blueprint 3 this year, the Brooklyn emcee practically confirmed that it would not be coming out in 2008. Kanye West, who is producing at least a portion of the album, spoke on the matter.
"I mean, it's phenomenal," said 'Ye, according to MTV News. "We went in and we done the whole album. He wanted to do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. Now we're gonna go in and just work on some more records. So I got some more stuff to kill it with! I think [Jay pushed the album back because] 'Swagger' just did so incredible. We wanted to go up [and make sure] everything was on that level."

Lupe Fiasco Bowing Out With Triple-Disc Set? (DAPP News)

Atlantic Records is declining comment on reports that rapper Lupe Fiasco will retire from music after releasing a triple disc album titled "LupEND."

Fiasco made the announcement during a Halloween show in Chicago, explaining that "END" stands for "everywhere," "nowhere" and "down here." No release date has been confirmed.

If true, the news shouldn't come as much of a surprise, considering Fiasco told Billboard as much last December. "'LupEND' -- that's going to be my last album's title," he said. "When you play a videogame, you can only put in three letters for your name and when the game's over, those three letters and 'END' pop up. My next record might be my last one."

The rapper's two albums, 2006's "Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor" and last year's high-concept "The Cool," have proven him to be one of the most exciting artists in hip-hop. Sales of "The Cool" have raced by those of the debut 549,000 to 375,000, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Fiasco has a handful of dates on tap before the end of the year, including Wednesday (Nov. 12) in Los Angeles.

Ludacris, Kanye West albums move up a day - new release date: Nov. 24th (DAPP News)

Island Def Jam is moving up by a day the release dates for the Killers' "Day & Age," Ludacris' "Theater of the Mind" and Kanye West's "808s & Heartbreak," in what it says is an attempt to capitalize on the Thanksgiving shopping weekend.

All three albums were due Nov. 25 but will now come out off-cycle on Monday, Nov. 24 in both physical and digital formats.

Each project has already spawned a hit. The Killers' "Human" is No. 6 on Billboard's Modern Rock chart, while Ludacris' "One More Drink" co-starring T-Pain is No. 34 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. West's "Love Lockdown" has already peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100.

88 Keys "the death of adam" album (DAPP News)

The Death of Adam is the debut album by producer and rapper 88-Keys. The album is scheduled to be released November 11, 2008. In addition to Kanye West, The Death of Adam features Kid Cudi, J*Davey, Redman, Bilal, Phonte of Little Brother, and alternative rock group Shitake Monkey. The whole album is narrated and DJ'ed by 88, he takes you play by play and inside the twisted mind of the author of this hilarious and brilliant concept album.

"The entire album is about the power of the punani, if you will. The album follows the story line of my man Adam who passed away and basically how he died. It all started off with him catching a boner one morning, morning wood, and his life starts to spin out of control from there"

“I thought, “What gives me pleasure?” So I thought, Polo clothes, blue label of course, give me pleasure, when I’m out coppin’. Making beats bring me pleasure. Money. I’m like, “Boom! I know what gives me pleasure! Pussy!” So as soon as that thought came into my head, I’m like, “Okay. I’m scrapping all the other beats I had made for my album so far, and I’m starting with this one. This is the first beat for my album.” And I just stayed on it.”

The albums lead single, "Stay Up! (Viagra)", features 88’s best friend and executive producer of the project, Kanye West. In a recent interview 88' stated that despite his friendship with Kanye West he never explicitly asked Kayne to get involved with his project:

"I really didn’t approach him at all. Him and I, we’re best friends, so he’s kinda been there almost every step of the way. So just me playing him the album, he was diggin’ it a lot. He liked it a lot. He definitely brought something to the table as far as the story line is concerned. He actually helped me rewrite the story, trim the fat off the album and then he gave the story a brand new twist ending that was so genius."
