Andre 3000 "green light" lyrics (DAPP)

boogieb: just felt like posting André 3 Stack's verse on this song cause its too damn dapp...
So I went hard like Medusa staring at me
I told her let's go, let's blow this lame nigga factory
She said, what type of girl do you think i are
The kind that you meet in a bar
You think you can get whatever you want cause you some kinda star
No i'm a comet
I just want you woman
Hey, if i were you then it would be me that i go home with
3, the one and only
One thing you ain't considered
I heard you when you told your girl "ooo he can get it"
Admit it
You did it
Let's hop a cab and split it
I'm kiddin
We both going to where you livin
HA, i got you gigglin like I'm piglet
Oh that's the ticket
I hope you are more like Anita Baker than Robin Givens
No, i don't know that lady so let me quit it
I'm just style freein, freestylin with ya'll soundin you
That's just what I'm telling you
To the bed i'm nailing you
Like i've been in jail for two
Years and then they let me loose

mtvmusic.com (DAPP News/Videos)

" Goodbye, Productivity: MTV Music Site Posts Every Music Video Ever. I hope you've got some time to kill, because the new MTV Music website is pretty much the coolest thing ever for music fans. At long last, the MTV name is being associated with music videos again, because the "music" channel has gone and put its entire archive of music videos online, all embeddable and in high quality. It's like Hulu for music videos, only with less ads (for now). And it's awesome.

The site's still very young, but just poking around shows the amazing amount of content on there. There aren't just music videos on here, but also songs played on shows like VH1 Storytellers and MTV Unplugged. Just check out above, where I've embedded Nirvana playing The Man Who Sold the World from their unplugged set. As of this writing, it's been played 8 times.

Before this just degenerates into me embedding my favorite music videos, I'll just leave you with this video for Wanderlust by Bjork and then let you go explore for yourself. Just from my surface exploration, it includes pretty much everything, from old acts to new, major label acts to indies. Go, go now! "

Ludacris: 'battle of the sexes' / 'theater of the mind 2' / 'the game' film (DAPP News)

" In ’09, I’m definitely dropping another album. I’m working on a Battle of the Sexes album and a Theater of the Mind 2. With Battle of the Sexes, I’m trying to do some stuff with Shawnna. There’s another movie coming out [next summer] called The Game, which stars Gerard Butler. He starred in 300. That is a kinda futuristic action movie. Imagine convicts in a battle zone, but [they’re] being played as actual video games because they have a chip in their heads. So, it’s human beings playing other human beings in a battle zone. They do it to shave time off their sentences, or to get outta jail. It’s going to be crazy.

Soon after, Phonte and Nicolay formed The Foreign Exchange without having ever met each other in person, hence the name Foreign Exchange. The album, Connected, was released in 2004 and was a showcase for Nicolay's musical talents as well as an introduction to like-minded Little Brother affiliates who guested on the album."

Q-tip "move" (music video) (DAPP Videos)

" KanYeWest's 808s & Heartbreak Album Preview: More Drums, More Singing, 'No Typical Hip-Hop Beats' " (DAPP News)

" Kanye West had some very simple rules when making 808s & Heartbreak, according to veteran producer Mike Dean (Scarface, UGK, Juvenile), one of the people mixing the LP. First rule: No dummies allowed in the lab.

"He has no tolerance for stupidity, people who don't know what they're doing," Dean told MTV News in a Burbank studio. "He's cool to me in the studio though."

West also had some other laws he enforced in the three weeks of recording in Hawaii.
"Every song has got to have an 808 [drum pattern] in it,"
added Dean, who met Kanye years ago while 'Ye was working with Scarface. "A keyboard part, no typical hip-hop beats. They've gotta be tribal drums. They're all singing."

On Tuesday night in Los Angeles, Kanye held a listening session for music journalists, as well celebritie
s Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Q-Tip, Jimmy Kimmel, Mike Rapaport and others.

People there definitely heard the Auto-Tune effect throughout the album. "We were working on the remixes for [ Lil Wayne's 'Lollipop' and Young Jeezy's 'Put On,'] and he fell in love with the Auto-Tune," Dean explained.

Undisputed Auto-Tune King T-Pain spoke to MTV News a few weeks ago about his involvement in the LP. "I co-sign his whole album," T-Pain said. "I just flew in last night from Hawaii, working. His whole album is crazy, and it's definitely a different kind of Kanye. I mean, as far as 'Love Lockdown' goes, he did that whole thing himself. He just had me in mind. 808s is really all Kanye. I'm just here to keep it from [sounding] adult contemporary."

Common also praised the project recently. "I love it," Common said. "Let me tell you, as an artist, you wanna be free. You gotta do what you feel. You can't just cater to the audience. You gotta say, 'Hey, y'all, this is where I'm at.' For him to do an album called 808s & Heartbreak, you know that's where he is at this moment. I heard some songs, and I think it's fresh. I think the people are ready for it."

At the listening party, "Amazing" with Young Jeezy was a hit with the audience, as was "Tell Everybody You Know," featuring Lil Wayne.

"Lil Wayne is singing with a rock edge," Dean said. "He actually sounds a lot like Axl Rose on that track. They bring a lot out of each other. They're each other's favorite MC. Kanye is Wayne's and Wayne is Kanye's."

"Robocop" is supposed to receive Herbie Hancock's magic touch
by the time the LP arrives on November 25. "[Herbie] hasn't actually done it yet," Dean said. "He's in France. We sent somebody out there to record him."

Jon Brion — who co-produced West's Late Registration — plays the strings on the album intro "Welcome to Heartbreak." "Say You Will" — which will hit home with the recently dumped — harkens back to a young George Michael.

As of now, "Heartless" is slated to be 808s & Heartbreak's second single. The video was just shot, but no details have been released about the top-secret clip. "

"To continue with the inauguration of Green Label Sound's debut release, "Delivery Man" from The Cool Kids comes the official video for the single. For their second video to date, Mikey Rocks and Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids enlisted up and coming genius, Ray Tintori to direct. Tintori's most recent music video work includes singles from MGMT. " Jacob Dutton, better known as Jake One, is an American hip hop record producer from Seattle, Washington.

Dutton grew up in Capitol Hill and moved to the North End of Seattle when he was 15. He started making music on a Casio keyboard in 1992. He attended the University of Washington and gave a tape of his music to a friend who worked in a local record store. One of the store's other employees, the DJ Mr. Supreme heard the tape, and when he set up his Conception Records label, he used Dutton to create backing tracks. The first record he produced was Eclipse's "World Premier". His early influences included Pete Rock, DJ Premier, and Marley Marl. Dutton has worked with local artists as well as major names from further afield. He has produced tracks by artists such as De La Soul, Strange Fruit Project, MF DOOM, E-40, John Cena, Planet Asia, Nas, and 50 Cent. He is part of the G-Unit production team, The Money Management Group.

His first album credited to Jake One, White Van Music, was release on October 7th, 2008 on Rhymesayers Entertainment, which features contributions from Brother Ali, Young Buck, De La Soul, M.O.P., Freeway, MF DOOM, Slug, and Keak Da Sneak.

Common ft. Pharrell "universal mind control" music video (DAPP Videos)

boogieb: Dapp-est video out now, so dapp ill over look the Zune in the beginning out it. Pharrell really like Microsoft... or maybe he just likes the money Microsoft gives him.

'universal mind control' - in stores november 11th

Video: Common's 'Universal Mind Control' Cyberfunk
By Scott Thill

Conscientious rapper Common recombined Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock" and Hype Williams' 21st-century visuals to create the mesmerizing video for "Universal Mind Control," which went live on Tuesday on imeem, the awesome online music resource. The single comes from the new release of the same name, which drops November 11 from Common's G.O.O.D. Music and Geffen Records.

Common also kicked off Zune's video podcast series "The Green Room" on Tuesday, with an interview held at the Seattle club Showbox SoDo. But his cyberfunk video for "Universal Mind Control" is the prize catch of the pair.

It's kinetic eye candy that is hard to beat, even if the song offers more in terms of homage than it does in terms of originality. After all, Afrika Bambaataa mashed hip-hop and krautrock as far back as 1982, when his single "Planet Rock" sequenced the genes for techno, house and more.
Common's new video doesn't expand too much on Bam's sonic thesis, but it is amazing to look at, and not just because uber-producer Pharrell offers up a cameo rap disguised as a robot who bears a resemblance to the famed Avengers villain Ultron. Rather, it's a cool mutation in Common's otherwise ground-breaking career, and one that wears its epochal influences on its sleeve.

Tune in, turn it up, zone out.

kanYeWest's '808's and Heartbreak': Nov 25th (DAPP News)

" Kanye West let fans know he planned on releasing the album, 808's and Heartbreak in February but never gave an official date. Now, fresh off a trip to Hawaii and the completion of his new album, West is ready to unveil the new music and his new release date.

"I just pushed my album up to November 25," he told fans at a secret MySpace show for T.I.'s new album. "We just finished the album. I just got back from Hawaii earlier today."

"Heartless" may just end up being the second single for the album. Fans may recall the song was performed at the DNC last month.

'Ye also made headlines for his temper against paparazzi. The emcee recently got in trouble for smashing some cameras at LAX. Well, they are at it again. This time, they ask the emcee if he'd like to apologize for his actions. In the new video clip, he looks at the camera man and finally speaks to him after giving him a silent stare.

"I'm gonna ask you as a man to leave me alone." "'
