Complex's: 5 worst Jay-Z songs.

boogieb: its all good though, we all have bad moments, makes us appreciate the good ones that much more:

#5.
SONG: “Justify My Thug”
ALBUM: The Black Album
Announcing he was going to get Madonna on track on his farewell album was the first mistake. Having her drop out only to have DJ Quick sample her “Justify My Love” instead to proclaim his gangster was, well, LAAAAAAME!
boogieb: that beat just puts me to sleep. almost put a wrinkle in the black album.., thank goodness for "P.S.A"

#4.
SONG: “As One” (feat. Memphis Bleek, Freeway, Young Gunz, Peedi Crakk, Omillio Sparks & Rell)
ALBUM: Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse
What do you do if you have a roster full of artists you have no intentions of ever putting out again? Take one of your in-house producers’ throwaway beats and let ‘em scuffle for a couple bars each. Who said Hov didn’t care about his artists?

boogieb: Blueprint 2 might not of been the greatest to many, but damn i liked it. to me it was just him showin out: "im the sh!t, just look at all the big names i can get on a single album. im fuckin Jay-z". Thats the kinda swagg only Hov possesses. But if the first Blueprint wasn't as dapp as it was, he might not of gotten away with it.

#3.
SONG: “30 Something”
ALBUM: Kingdom Come
In the rap kingdom, whatever Hova says becomes law, right? We thought so to until he tried disrupt the laws of physics and convince the youth that 30 is the new 20 and that therefore he’s still cool. Come on Hov, R. Kelly and Woody Allen were the only dudes riding with you on that one.

boogieb: i couldn't wait to be 30 the first time i heard this, then i began to realize that me and no one else i know is gonna be ballin quite like that at 30. so then i got depressed.

#2.
SONG: “‘03 Bonnie & Clyde”, “Hollywood” (TIE)
ALBUM: Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse, Kingdom Come
We didn’t think Jay-Z could make a worse song with Beyonce than the “Bonnie & Clyde” remake. Until we heard the horribly laughable “Hollywood.” Why is it that every time Hov appeared on a Beyonce album, the song was good, but when it was the other way around, it sounded like a track Memph Bleek would turn down?
boogieb: I can dislike a Jay-z song but its hard for me to really hate one, but "Hollywood" came close. I didn't mind "Bonnie & Clyde". was probably too bitch for some though.

#1.
SONG: “I Know What Girls Like” (Feat. Puff Daddy & Lil Kim)
ALBUM: In My Lifetime Vol. 1
Puffy and the Hitmen blessed Hov with some gems on Vol. 1—”Imaginary Player”, “Where I’m From”, “You Must Love Me”—but they just couldn’t leave the jiggy alone! Without the camel face inducing visual, “Sunshine” was aiiight, but “I Know What Girls Like” was garbage. No wonder it took a decade for the two of them to link back up. Time heals all, apparently.
boogieb: scratch that, I came closer to hate with this one...

On the good side, its almost impossible to do the 5 best Jay-z songs ...too damn many.

Kid Cudi "Man On The Moon: The End Of Day" - the reviews are in, the critics show love.

boogieb: sounds like good things, can't wait to judge for myself.

Universal Motown & ThinkTank Marketing hosted an exclusive NYC listening session for this year's most anticipated debut album. Motown's President Sylvia Rhone was in attendance to personally introduce Kid Cudi's "Man On The Moon: The End Of Day", calling it a "seminal album" and comparing Cudi to the great Jimi Hendrix for his ability to change the sound of music forever. After listening to the 15 song "cinematic" masterpeice, which is narrarated by Common, the blogosphere immediately started buzzing with excitement. Check out what everyone is saying:

Rap-Up.com
“Cudi’s day may be coming to an end, but his role in transforming hip-hop begins now.”

ShowingOut.com
“To put it bluntly, Kanye wishes that he could have made this album, one that sounds genuine without a single forced element.”

Roc4Life.com
“It's a better version of 808s & Heartbreak.”

TheUrbanDaily.com/SnarkJacobs
“Epic, obscure, and introspective, Kid Cudi did everything he was supposed to, securing his spot as the new tortured genius.”

AllThatsFab.com
“Definitely an IPOD must!”

DrJays.com
“This is a soundtrack for the 30 and under, quarter-life crises generation, and for anyone struggling to find themselves.”

DJBooth.net
"Man on the Moon: The End of Day rises and falls with the grace and intention of an epic symphonic work"

need some in-home tech support from Verizon? pray they don't send this guy.

A Queens man needed a doctor after a house call from a surly Verizon repairman who pummeled him -- and never fixed the problem, according to a lawsuit. Robert Benjamin pounded Aubrey Isakson, 37, after the suspicious customer -- told earlier that the repair wouldn't require access to his Sunnyside apartment -- demanded ID and wouldn't let him inside, the suit filed in Queens Supreme Court charges.

"You want to know my name? Here's my name," Benjamin snarled, slapping his ID card into Isakson's face, according to Isakson's account of the December 2008 confrontation. [read more – holla@nypost]

"more than a game" movie trailer, starring LeBron Jame's high school team.

boogieb: documentary of LeBron's high school team, in theaters Oct 2. LeBron is a marketing machine.

Five talented young basketball players from Akron, Ohio star in this remarkable true-life coming of age story about uncommon friendship in the face all too common adversities. Coached by a charismatic but inexperienced player’s father, and led by future NBA superstar LeBron James, the “Fab Five’s” improbable seven-year journey leads them from a decrepit inner-city gym to the doorstep of a national high school championship. Along the way, the close-knit team is repeatedly tested—both on and off the court—as James’ exploding worldwide celebrity threatens to destroy everything they’ve set out to achieve together. MORE THAN A GAME combines a series of unforgettable one-on-one interviews with rare news footage, never-before-seen home videos and personal family photographs to bring this heart-warming and wholly American story to life.

Lionsgate and Harvey Mason Media in association with Interscope Records present a Harvey Mason Media Production in association with Galley Boy and Spring Hill Productions a film by Kristopher Belman. MORE THAN A GAME is written by Kristopher Belman & Brad Hogan and directed by Kristopher Belman. Jay-Z takes Oprah to the hood, now best friends.

“...he smelled so good! And it's that kind of thing where you hug a guy, and the scent is sort of buried in them. When we went to the second location, I could still smell him on me. It was like, 'Oh, this is wonderful.'”  -Oprah
boogieb: guess Oprah isn't as anti hiphop as we though... i bet Luda is a lil jealous.
Jay-Z gave Oprah Winfrey a tour of his old neighbourhood this weekend with the presenter immediately declaring the MC her “new best friend.” The rapper gave a two hour long interview to Winfrey whilst they walked around the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn, New York. According to reports Jay and Oprah were joined by Rihanna for the wander. [holla@mtv.co.uk]

Ghostface Killah - 'Cell Block Z' comic

boogieb: my boy Chris Walker's (artist) Ghostface comic 'Cell Block Z' is finally complete and available now for all my comic book heads. This should hold be over till Ghost's 'Wizard of Poetry' drops. also check out bvcom!cs to complete your comic fix.

Following in Wu-Tang brethren Method Man’s footsteps, Ghostface Killah has written a comic book set for release from the Hachete Book Group later this month.
According to the book company’s website, Cell Block Z, tells the story of a one-time boxing contender who gets wrongfully arrested for murder. Once locked up, the man who shares a blatantly similar name to Ghost, Cole Dennis, finds out about an evil plan to turn inmates into bioweapons.

Ghost got a helping hand from L.A.-based screenwriters Marlon Chapman and Shaunna Garr as well as Chris Walker (Marvel, Bad Boy, Adidas), who handled the book’s illustrations.

Ghost is not the only Wu-Tang MC to get his own comic book. Last year partner-in-rhyme Method Man dropped his own graphic novel on Hachete and Sky Farm Studios is currently working on a new book titled Attack of the Brooklyn Super Ninjas, starring The Rza. [holla@XXL]
